HELPING WORKING PEOPLE TO BE FUTURE READY
On 1 May 2016, Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong announced the first collaboration between Nanyang Technological University (NTU) and National Trades Union Congress (NTUC) to help advance the professional development of the Singapore’s workforce in preparation for future challenges.
The new NTU College of Professional and Continuing Education (PaCE College) is established to develop programmes for continuing professional education and development, to equip Singapore professionals, managers and executives (PMEs) with updated knowledge and skills to keep PaCE with the rapid technological changes rippling through today’s increasingly competitive economy and industrial landscape.
NTU PaCE College is offering 28 Technology-Enhanced Learning (TEL) undergraduate-level courses for part-time study starting from August 2016.
Under the NTU and NTUC partnership, Union Members can enjoy course fee subsidy of SGD250 per year under the Union Training Assistance Programme (UTAP) upon successful completion of the TEL course.
In addition, 47 short courses offered by PaCE College are also supported by NTUC and Union Members will also enjoy the same course fee subsidy funded under UTAP.
Members of the NTUC U Network can also receive up to 25% of the course fee funding for TEL courses, up to a maximum of SGD50 per year.
